You're right, Mckinzy is not a Siberian Husky at all, she is an Alaskan Malamute. She was our first purebred dog, she had a great fun loving personality but taught us why it is important to purchase puppies from a responsible breeder. We fell in love with her when we went to visit her litter and thought because she was AKC registered that she must be a quality pet. She was bred by people who loved their dogs but did not do health checks on the parents and were not concerned with (or did not know about) possible health defects in puppies. Because of very poor conformation by age two Mckinzy had ruptured a disk in her back leaving one of her hind legs partially paralyzed. WE WILL CHERISH OUR MEMORIES OF MCKINZY FOREVER.
